This is a long post but a bunch of stuff came up at once. First, the new research on Splenda is downright scary. Second, there’s a new exercise method that you simply have to know about. And finally, I think I’ve been introduced to one of the best total productivity programs I have ever seen.
SPLENDA IS SCARY STUFF
A new study done at Duke University and published this past week in the Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health, Part A has some frightening news about Splenda (sucralose).
According to the study, the use of Splenda:
- Reduces the amount of good bacteria in the intestines by 50%.
- Increases the pH level in the intestines.
- Contributes to increases in body weight.
- And affects the P-glycoprotein (P-gp) in the body in such a way that crucial health-related drugs could be rejected.
The study, authored by Drs. Mohamed B. Abou-Donia, Eman M. El-Masry, Ali A. Abdel-Rahman, Roger E. McLendon and Susan S. Schiffman, was conducted using male rats over a period of twelve weeks.
You have probably heard of some downsides to artificial sweetners, especially Nutrasweet. A lot of the complaints had some merit but were not conclusive, but this one seems especially damning and outright scary!
There’s a lot of talk about lack of oversight in banking. Looks like the FDA needs some help big time.

The Seven Minute Workout
On another note, but related to your health, I have been evaluating a new exercise method for the last couple of months. I’m happy enough with it that I think it’s worth sharing with you.
As you might know, I am kind of a human guinea pig for new health approaches and self improvement approaches. I receive new programs to evaluate daily. Most I dismiss out of hand because the lack of credibility or novelty is so obvious.
But every once in a while, one catches my interest. Then I’ll try it out. Usually I give it up because it’s either too boring, too time-consuming, or just doesn’t work.
The one I am about to tell you about was created by a fitness expert named Jon Benson. Jon is the author of a lot of successful fitness books and programs especially for those over 40. A couple of years ago, he figured out a new way of resistance training which is truly different and scientifically valid. More importantly, it only takes a little over 7 minutes a day.
Yes, 7 minutes a day. It is 7 minutes of hell, but only 7 minutes. It is best used in a gym, but you can do it at home. It will work for muscle heads and it will work for females who just want to look lean. I am definitely not a muscle head, but it has helped me add some lean muscle which of course allows me to eat more calories without gaining fat.
There are a lot of other benefits to this method over normal resistance training, especially in controlling blood sugar. I don’t know enough to go into any more detail, except to say that it has reduced my workout time while giving me better results – and after a while it gets kind of fun because it is also a mental workout.
And it goes well with PACE, a cardio program I use created by Dr. Al Sears.
The only downside is that his website landing page is a little over the top for my taste, but this is what sells in the industry. It is my view that this program would benefit anyone interested in resistance training – and everyone needs resistance training! So don’t let the packaging get in the way.

Eban Pagan Reveals His Secrets to Productivity
You have probably heard about (and might even own) the program we publish by Dr. Neil Fiore called Productivity Engineering. It uses hypnosis sessions that remove unconscious blocks to productivity. It gets some pretty amazing results. If you don’t own it, you probably should, but this post is not about that.
I recently was selected to review Eben Pagan’s 12 week video productivity program and I was blown away. For those of you who do not know who Eben is, he is one of the most successful marketers out there today.
He owns multiple companies, one of which does over 20 million dollars a year, and he does a lot of live training for entrepeneurs in the San Diego area.
Let’s just say he gets a lot done.
Eben is crazy diligent in documenting anything he does, and he has been studying productivity for a long time. In this program, he covers a lot of focusing techniques and then gives you daily rituals and homework that if followed are sure to make anyone more productive.
If you work for yourself in any capacity, I think it’s a must have. Especially with the economy the way it is, you simply have to be better than the competition. I don’t know if this would be that valuable for an employee – but certainly would be a huge asset to any student.
He has a free video at:

It’s definitely worth giving up your email address to see the video.
And if you don’t have Dr. Fiore’s productivity program yet, I’ll let you have it at the special offer price of $97 with some cool bonuses. We now have an installment plan where you can split it up into 3 payments of less than $33 each.
It’s a perfect complement to Eben’s program, as they both use a lot of the same principles. Neil’s program is deep mind, and Eben’s is tactics and rituals.
