This program was created using the latest scientific mind-body techniques to help you instill healthy habits regarding food. This program offers thematic sessions that cover eating habits related to stress, night time snacking, controlling drinking to lose weight, and using your mind to control your body and its cravings.

A unique track, "Stomach Shrinker" is the highlight of this program, mimicking the successful and popular gastric by-pass and stomach-stapling surgeries without the costly, painful operations or lengthy healing times.

Learning to harness mind-body techniques to aid in weight loss has been validated in numerous studies. Most importantly, once learned, these techniques can be brought up again and again to help ensure long term weight loss.

The creator of this program, Dr. Roberta Temes, is an adjunct professor of psychiatry at the Downstate Medical School of the State University of New York (SUNY), and editor of Medical Hypnosis, the first hypnosis textbook used in medical schools.

How to use this program – Instructions for CDs:

This program is composed of several sessions. When you master one session you will proceed to the next. Take your time. One session a day, according to the instructions below, is the way to attain weight loss for life.

Don't worry if you skip a day now and then, you will still be successful. If you wish to listen to two sessions in one day, please space them several hours apart.

CDs 1-4, are to be enjoyed in the privacy of your own home. Never listen while in the car. It is only CD 5, Words to Live by, that is appropriate for the car or anywhere else.

Most people do well with the following schedule:

Day One: Listen to Disc 1 - all 3 tracks. (You only need to hear each Intro once.)

Day Two: Listen to Disc 1 – Mind over Matter.

Day Three: Listen to Mind over Matter again.

Day Four: Mind Over Matter once again.

Day Five: Listen to Disc 2 – Alleviate Stress Intro and then Alleviate Stress.

Day Six: Listen to Alleviate Stress again.

Day Seven: Listen to the Social Drinking Intro and then to Control Social Drinking. (If you do not drink alcohol or you do not overindulge in social drinking then just skip this track and go directly to Day Eight's instructions.)

Day Eight: Listen to the Stop Cravings Intro and then to Stop Cravings Permanently.

Day Nine: Stop Cravings once again.

Day Ten: Decide which session on Disc 2 helped you the most and listen to that session one more time – Stress, Social Drinking, or Cravings.

Day Eleven: Listen to Disc 3, End Night Time Eating Intro and End Night Time Eating.

Day Twelve: Night Time Eating again, if that pertains to you. If not, repeat any one of the previous sessions.

If you have not already done so, this is a good place to pause. Do not listen to Weight Loss for Life for a few days. Allow yourself to feel comfortable with your new eating habits. Appreciate your new habits. You will eagerly resume listening in a couple of days and you'll go directly to Day Thirteen's instructions.

Day Thirteen: Listen to Disc 3, Shrink Your Stomach Intro and Shrink Your Stomach.

Day Fourteen: Listen to Shrink Your Stomach once again.

Day Fifteen: Shrink Your Stomach again.

Please take another day off and when you return go directly to Day Sixteen.

Day Sixteen: Listen to Disc 4 – all 3 tracks. This will teach you a mind/body technique, Tapping, that you can use anywhere, any time.

Day Seventeen: Listen to Tapping for Weight Loss on Disc 4.

Day Eighteen: Decide which sessions are the ones you need today and tomorrow. Adapt your session schedule to meet your specific needs. Figure out which sessions are most appropriate for you and how often you'll need to listen to them in order to obtain your maximum benefit - and then go for it!

Congratulations! You are now on the road to permanent weight loss. You've accomplished so much – no more excessive drinking, no more out-of-control nighttime eating, no more using food to cover up sadness or stress, and lastly, no more cravings. You are amazing!

Session Six: Listen to Alleviate Stress again.

Session Seven: Listen to the Social Drinking Intro and then to Control Social Drinking. (If you do not drink alcohol or you do not overindulge in social drinking then just skip this track and go directly to Session Eight).

Session Eight: Listen to Session 8, Stop Cravings Intro and then to Session 9, Stop Cravings Permanently.

Session Nine: Stop Cravings once again

Session Ten: Decide which session thus far has helped you the most and listen to that session one more time – Stress, Social Drinking, or Cravings.

Session Eleven: Listen to Session 10, End Night Time Eating Intro and Session 11, End Night Time Eating.

Session Twelve: Listen to Night Time Eating again, if that pertains to you. If not, repeat any one of the previous sessions.

How do I know if it is working? How do I know if I am actually hypnotized while listening to the sessions?

The experience of hypnosis is different for everyone. For many people, hypnosis is much like reading a good book. You are absorbed, but are still aware of your environment and your internal dialogue.

The depth of the trance has no effect on your results. The best way to notice if the hypnosis is working is to notice your decisions during the day surrounding food and exercise. Gradually, it will be easier and easier to make the right decisions.

Will I lose control?

All hypnosis is essentially self-hypnosis, and hypnosis will actually give you more control over yourself than you had before. Hypnosis cannot make you do anything against your will.

Can I listen while sleeping?

These sessions will not be effective if you listen while you are sleeping, but listening in a reclined position while preparing for bed is perfectly acceptable.

Any time of day is fine – the most important things to remember are that your listening time should be undisturbed and uninterrupted.

Can I listen while driving?

You should NOT listen to discs 1-4 in the car. Never listen to a hypnosis session while driving or engaged in any activity that requires your attention. Please listen in a quiet place where you will be undisturbed, without operating a vehicle or any dangerous machinery. Disc 5 is safe to listen to in your vehicle.
